Solo Champions

Communities matter, and being part of the LYR rowing community is a great way to show your support for our work.

Becoming part of our community has never been easier or more important. All of our LYR Champions provide huge motivation to our coaches and the young people they teach, on a daily basis.

Thank you for supporting us in using the sport of rowing to shape young people; helping them be more active, determined and ultimately discover success in their chosen path.

If you have any questions on LYR Champions, please email athodge@londonyouthrowing.com.

Putting your name down is, in itself, a strong signal that we’re doing a good thing for rowing and the young people we work with. And it is a great motivation to the young people knowing they have a long list of people behind them and supporting their progression.

There is no cost to this, and you will receive our quarterly newsletter with updates and opportunities to get involved in some of the fun events we run.  You’ll also get priority access to Race the Thames, and our volunteering opportunities.

Local Hero

A little goes a long way with £10 a month

Our programmes rely on dedicated coaches who have the enormous task of connecting with schools, breaking down the perceived barrier to rowing, before then setting up sessions in the schools to start a young person journey in rowing.  Being able to present that great opportunity  ultimately does come down to money – so thank you for directly funding our programme!

You will receive our quarterly newsletter with updates and opportunities to get involved in some of the fun events we run. You’ll also get priority access to Race the Thames and the Centurion Challenge, and to our volunteering opportunities if you wish.  You get to wear LYR with our Local Hero T-shirt. And finally we invite you to make a personal Life Skills video, which will be delivered to thousands of young people who are part of our Active Row programme.

National Treasure

A bit more goes even further with £25 a month
Sign up
An experienced inclusion session coach costs £15 per hour.  Your commitment will enable us to motivate and inspire a group of over 20 young people who would otherwise be left out of sport. This level of support goes a huge way to making a real impact in communities in London and Leeds. You will receive access to discounts from our partners, coming soon, as well as our quarterly newsletter with updates and opportunities to get involved in some of the fun events we run.

You’ll also get priority access to Race the Thames and the Centurion Challenge, and to our volunteering opportunities if you wish.  You get to wear LYR with our National Treasure T-shirt. Finally we invite you to make a personal Life Skills video, which will be delivered to thousands of young people who are part of our Active Row programme.

Our Active Row Programme puts Rowing into Secondary state schools from under privileged communities in London and Leeds, motivating and inspiring those with the least opportunity.

Our Life Skills work, with Skills Builder, creates a framework around rowing that enables the thousands we work with see the wider benefits and life skills they learn.

Our Crew Champions, the businesses we work with, show how these skills translate into the world of work and present the pathway to becoming successful adults.
